A Tale of the Old West<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a tale of same Masons surrounding a campfire in the Old West, at night, and discussing the Fraternity and its teachings. One old Mason listened patiently, and finally spoke up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you more about Freemasonry in a little example than some of the great Masonic Philosophers can in books. <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
Everybody stand up, and gather in a circle around the campfire.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n

They did that<\/p>\n

\u201c Now hold hands\u201d<\/em><\/span> They did that too.<\/address>\n
\u201cNow what do you see looking ahead?.<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cThe face of a Brother Mason through the flames\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cWhat do you feel in front of you?\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cThe warmth of the fire, and the comfort it brings on<\/em> a cool night. <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201c What do you feel at you side?\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cThe warm hand of a Brother\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n

<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOK . Now drop you hands, and turn around\u201d<\/em><\/span> They did so.<\/address>\n
\u201cNow what do you see, looking ahead?\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cComplete darkness\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n

\u201cWhat do you feel, looking ahead?\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cA sense of loneliness, of being alienated\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cWhat do you feel at your side?\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cNothing at all\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cWhat do you feel on your backside?.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n
\u201cThe warmth of the fire\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/address>\n

<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSo it is with Freemasonry\u201d<\/em><\/span> said the old man.<\/p>\n

In Masonic gatherings, you can feel the warmth of Masonic interaction, you can see the face of a Brother through the light Freemasonry brings you, and you can always feel the warm hand of a Brother.<\/p>\n

When you turn away from Masonry, and are out in the World, you see darkness, feel alienated and alone, and do not feel the warm hand of a Masonic Brother.<\/p>\n

But Masonry, and the warmth it brings, are just a turn away from you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
