I met a dear old man today who wore a Masonic Pin<\/address>\n
It was old and faded, like the man, its edges worn and thin<\/address>\n
I approached the park bench where he sat to give the Old Brother his due,<\/address>\n
I Said \u201cI see you\u2019ve traveled East and he said \u201cI have, Have You?\u201d<\/address>\n
I Said, I have, and in my day before the setting sun<\/address>\n
I played in the rubble with Jubala, Jubilo and Jubalum<\/address>\n
He shouted, \u201cDon\u2019t laugh at the Work my son, It\u2019s good, sweet and true<\/address>\n
And if you\u2019ve traveled as you said, you should give these things their due.<\/address>\n
The Work the Sign the Token, the Sweet Masonic Prayer<\/address>\n
The Vow that you have taken when you climbed the inner stair<\/address>\n
The Wages of a Mason are never paid on Gold<\/address>\n
But the gain comes from the contentment when you\u2019re weak and growing old.<\/address>\n
You see I\u2019ve carried my obligations for almost 50 years<\/address>\n
It has helped me through the hardships and the failures full of tears<\/address>\n
Now I\u2019m losing my mind and body— Death is near but I don\u2019t despair<\/address>\n
I\u2019ve lived my life upon the level and I\u2019m dying on the square<\/address>\n
Sometimes the greatest lessons are those that are learned anew<\/address>\n
And the old man in the park today has changed my point of view.<\/address>\n
To all my Masonic Brothers the only SECRET<\/strong> is to care,<\/address>\n
MAY YOU LIVE UPON THE LEVEL & PART UPON THE SQUARE<\/strong><\/address>\n
